At the age of only 5 years old, Dorothy announced to her mother her life's goal was to work with "orphaned children."
Dorothy has now been working in the field of social work for over four decades. Well respected and known for her work throughout the Midwest, Dorothy has served as a mentor, teacher, clinician and leader for several large not for profit agencies.
A native of Kansas, Dorothy has served in numerous clinical and administrative roles. With a background beginning in the field of criminal justice, Dorothy has specialized in raising up amazing social workers, one of which was a founding partner of Lifeworks!
Over 25 years ago, as Susan’s clinical supervisor, Dorothy invested herself in this “keeper” fresh out of school, sharing a passion for working with adoptive families and shaping this view in Susan and other young clinicians.
After almost 40 years of running residential treatment programs, Dorothy came to Lifeworks in 2018 to lead this agency as our CEO. Dorothy continues to provide guidance, education and a lifelong commitment to the field through her God given calling to professional clinical and administrative social work.
As a clinical practitioner, Dorothy’s specializations are in trauma, adoption, addictions, family mediation, older at-risk youth, and LGBTQ related issues.
