Jamie is a proud Park University alum. She also completed the MSW program at the University of Missouri in 2015. She recently joined the Lifeworks team after a 10-year career in child welfare at the Children’s Division. Having worn many hats during her time at the Division, Jamie is passionate about supporting foster/adoptive families and the children in their care. She has worked in both the Kansas City metro area, as well as rural communities, throughout her career in child welfare. Jamie advocates for quality services for families in rural communities.

 

An avid book lover, Jamie often incorporates books as a way to connect with and relate to young children whom she serves. She has experience in trauma informed care and utilizes an eclectic therapeutic style in her work with children and families. 

 

In her spare time, Jamie enjoys walking dogs at a local pet rescue, checking out local coffee shops, and camping with her husband, children, and a spunky chocolate Lab named Ellie.  Her favorite place to be is in a hammock by the lake with a good book.
