A native Kansan, Josh is a proud Jayhawker with his BSW from the University of Kansas and his Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Working on both sides of the state line, Josh's background in the field began in 2001 in foster care, adoption case management, and educational advocacy. Gaining even more experience working as a therapist in residential treatment, Josh joined the Lifeworks team in 2010.
Josh is especially gifted in working with at-risk teenagers, and is skilled in crisis management and de-escalation with those really hard teens. (He has even been known to teach his clients sheet rocking skills and window replacement in a couple of homes)! Also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR, Josh is enjoying his current training in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and brain mapping.
